Terms of Sale & End-User License Agreement
Last updated: September 1, 2026
These terms govern your purchase and use of the Tray Overflow application for macOS ("the app"), developed by Mateus Rapini ("we", "us"). By downloading, purchasing, or using the app you agree to these terms.
1. License grant
When you purchase Tray Overflow, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on up to 3 Macs that you own or control. You may deactivate the license on one Mac from within the app to use it on another. You may not resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the app or your license key, and you may not reverse-engineer the app except where the law permits it regardless of this restriction.
2. One-time purchase
Tray Overflow is sold for a one-time price. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. The license covers the version you purchased and updates we make available through the app's built-in updater.
3. Free trial
The app includes a 7-day free trial with all features enabled. No payment details are required for the trial. When the trial expires, the picker stops opening hidden items until a valid license key is entered; the app and your settings remain on your Mac.
4. Merchant of record
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments as the merchant of record. Dodo Payments handles the checkout, collects applicable taxes, delivers your license key by email, and processes refunds. Your purchase is additionally subject to Dodo Payments' terms of service. We do not receive or store your payment details.
5. Refunds
Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase as described in our refund policy.
6. Requirements and permissions
The app requires macOS 14 or later on an Apple silicon Mac and the macOS Accessibility permission, which it uses to locate menu bar items and open their menus. The macOS Screen Recording permission is optional and, when granted, is used solely to display each item's real menu bar icon in the picker. Granting permissions is your choice; the app cannot perform its core function without Accessibility.
7. Updates
We may release updates that fix bugs, improve performance, or add features. Updates are delivered through the app's built-in updater and are included with your license. We are not obligated to provide updates indefinitely or to maintain compatibility with future macOS versions.
8. Disclaimer of warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will work with every third-party application. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties; in those jurisdictions the above exclusions apply to the maximum extent permitted by law, and nothing in these terms limits any statutory consumer rights you may have.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the app or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for the app. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
10. Termination
This license terminates automatically if you breach these terms. Upon termination you must stop using the app and delete your copies. Sections 8 and 9 survive termination.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the current version will always be posted at this address with the date above. Changes apply going forward and do not retroactively reduce a license you have already purchased.
